How do we fight this deadly virus? China shows us the way forward

With coronavirus taking over the world and causing immense worry amongst us all, China has announced an immediate ban on the trade and consumption of wild animals effective right away. This comes as yet another effort to speeden methods to help the country fight against this virus.
The ban entails severe punishment for the trade of wild animals, as well as the consumption of it. While a lot of the reasons are still unknown, experts suspect one the main reasons for the virus to spread originates from wild animal trade.
Some believe that the virus originally started spreading from the city of Wuhan, the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market. The market sold bats, snakes and even civets. However, these are legally sold in China and this is a temporary ban (Update: The ban has been made permanent now). The traders plan to continue business as usual once the ban is lifted. Other than trade, the new ban also prohibits hunting, and transportation as well.

The ban comes at a critical time to nip the epidemic as far as possible and control the spreading of the same. So far, the coronavirus has claimed more than 2,800 lives worldwide.

Keeping corona virus aside, this might be a temporary relief for what animals go through as well?
