Hangyo Unveils Vegan Ice Creams In The Capital

Hangyo, a Mangalore-based ice cream brand, is all set to veganise everybody’s favourite dessert with Vegan Delicacy, a new line of plant-based ice creams. It comes in two flavours, Coconut Delicacy and Choconut Delicacy.

The ice cream line was unveiled in New Delhi by Union Minister for Agriculture Radha Mohan Singh on July 17th, on the 90th foundation day of ICAR (Indian Council Of Agricultural Research). Mr. Pradeep G Pai, Managing Director, Hangyo Ice Creams, was also present. Pai chose this platform for the inauguration because of the brand's association with ICAR. Vegan Delicacy was developed with help from the CPCRI (Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, an arm of ICAR).

“We have developed these products after working for almost a year with the full support and co-operation of Shri P. Chowdappa, Director CPCRI and his team and we have been successful in manufacturing and expanding a new product range to the Hangyo brand. Hangyo has manufactured these vegan delicacies which are made on the lines of the Prime Ministers slogan, ‘Make in India’”, said Pai.

Milking The Market

Hangyo began as a milk marketing company and entered the ice cream business a decade ago because margins were higher.
