Vegan families and parents of babies with milk allergies will finally get what they need – a plant-based, dairy-free formula from food giant Nestle! Nestle is tapping into the need for a formula which is devoid of casein (and the potential allergens within it) and catering to the growing number of vegan children and families.

Nestle has filed for a patent for the product, which has potato protein as its base, and is likely to include other plant proteins derived from pea, quinoa, oat flour and sunflower.

Vegan Infant Formula

Vegan Infant Formulas could replace Dairy ones as they are healthier

The Formula Behind The Formula

  • A blend of potato protein microparticles, carbohydrates and fats
  • Less potential allergens
  • Cost-effective
  • Better taste profile

The added bonus? It promises to be minimally processed. The formula will be suitable for babies below the age of 12 months. Nestle’s flagship formula brands include Nan & Lactogen, both of which are dairy-based. The new formula, once launched, will provide an effective and nutrient-dense vegan alternative.
