The seasoned traveler makes her way to these cities and demands a modern and updated view of food and the world, and with it, we have vegan plant-based options. If you are traveling across India, apart from the ubiquitous South Indian/Udipi restaurants that will always offer you a vegan dosa and idli, you can choose to eat at any of these restaurants below. Udaipur, Rajasthan

1. Millets of Mewar

This restaurant has a conscious offering using local, raw, vegan, and organic ingredients in their fare. Most of the menu can be offered as a vegan.

2. Yummy Yoga

A beautiful rooftop restaurant is willing to offer everything in vegan with ready swaps: Pizza, Pasta, and Indian-Chinese too!

5. Satchitananda Raw Food Restaurant

Everything is vegan and everything is raw! The staff is very creative in putting together this raw menu.

6. Café at Solitude Farm

A vegan café that came about as a natural progression of the founders’ discovery of the land and its bounties. This is a farm-to-plate restaurant that serves vegan (mostly), gluten-free, sugar-free fare.

VF Recommends: The daily changing thali dependent on the produce of the day.

9. Bodhi Greens

This is a seasonal restaurant open in the warm months. It is an organic Vegan Cafe serving modern plant-based food from Asian to continental fare. There is also a range of vegan desserts to choose from.

10. KaYa Cafe & Guesthouse

A seasonal café that is open from May to September every year. The menu changes and gets modified/improved every year. Run by the duo of a biker Hashim and a baker Pooja.

11. Cookie Lady

The first all-vegan place in Rishikesh offers breakfast and tea with a range of sweet treats from vegan cakes, muffins, donuts, and even scones.

12. Brown Bread Bakery

There are 6-7 items on the menu labeled vegan, happy to make a pizza without cheese (which is my current preferred way to eat Pizza as the cheese (vegan or non) takes over pizzas!)
