Actor Shah Rukh Khan Congratulates Plant-Based Company Imagine Meats Founded By Genelia and Riteish

Bollywood Superstar, Shah Rukh Khan posted a tweet to his 41.9 million Twitter followers to try plant-based meat from ImagineMeats founded by actors Genelia Deshmukh and Riteish Deshmukh.     

On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the superstar tweeted “My friends @geneliad & @Riteishd were discussing who would launch their Plant Based Meats Venture. I opened my arms wide and said ‘Main Hoon Naa’. I wish the entire team of @ImagineMeats my best as they dish out #TheHappyMeat. It’s live imaginemeats.com go visit.”

Though he is not a vegan, Shahkrukh Khan has shown his support for his friend's new venture by spreading the word.

According to studies, the alternative meat industry is largely driven by flexitarians, or people who eat mostly vegetables but occasionally consume meat and dairy products.

Plant-based, usually created for non-vegetarians and flexitarians are gaining popularity. According to the report link, the global plant-based meat market is expected to reach 3290 million US dollars by 2025, with a 12 percent increase over the next five years as more people switch to plant-based eating.

Earlier this year, on the finale of Bigg Boss Season 14. Actor Salman Khan mentioned that he relished the mock meats from ImagineMeats during a testing session and said that the "vegetarian meats" tasted exactly like ‘chicken’ and ‘mutton’. He further added that mock meats can be a good source of protein for vegetarians who aren't familiar with the taste of meat and can now enjoy it in a vegetarian form.

Imagine Meats was conceived by Deshmukhs' desire to create a better, kinder world for their children by combining the best of global food science with Indian culinary traditions and flavor. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the team has worked tirelessly to create the most authentic delicacies to appeal to both Indian and international palates.

Currently, the products are only available in Mumbai, but the team plans to expand into other cities across India in the near future.
