Fitness enthusiasts are no strangers to the benefits of a plant-based diet, which continues to be associated with numerous health advantages. After all, your health can significantly improve if you base your morning meal on whole foods and minimally processed meals. This also helps to keep up your level of energy all day. Many supporters of plant-based diets refer to it as a way of life rather than a dietary choice. And actress Alicia Silverstone, a Golden Globe nominee has often advocated the merits of going vegan.

She has now served vegan breakfasts to more than 2000 students at Mumbai municipal schools and helped feed more than 2000 animals in the community.

Specifics of the giveaway

Alicia has had a long association with PETA to support animal welfare and veganism. In a 2022 PETA advertisement, the outspoken animal advocate and her son Bear Blu, 11, were both featured. Alicia Silverstone appeared to be in the desert while just sporting a pair of cowboy boots. This time around, the actress collaborated with PETA on the giveaway, which was organised by the Akshaya Chaitanya Foundation. The protein-rich kala chana chaat, jowar popcorn, and vitamin C-rich maize khichdi were all components of the
vegan breakfasts.

Alicia Silverstone shares her two cents on the initiative

The actress from Clueless has long been an animal welfare activist and converted to veganism in 1999. She said, "With India emerging as a global leader in film, technology, and other areas, vitamin- and protein-packed vegan foods can give its youngsters the best chance to succeed. I'm happy to join my friends at PETA India in celebrating the country's National Youth Day by treating Mumbai schoolchildren to healthy vegan starts to their day. And as animals are loved by children and are members of our communities, thousands of them are being fed, too".

Reduced risk of heart disease, certain malignancies, obesity, diabetes, and cognitive decline have all been associated with plant-based diets in studies. So, regardless of whether you fully embrace the lifestyle, beginning your day with a plant-based meal has numerous health advantages.
