After Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards Opts For Plant-Based Menu Too!

Hollywood is aiming to make a difference and send out a message about climate change – and they’re doing it by adopting a plant-based diet at key events.

After the Golden Globes served a plant-based dinner, the Critics Choice Awards has followed suit, serving a plant-based menu due to environmental concerns.

The ceremony served vegan veggie tacos and burritos from Baja Fresh and burgers from The Counter, which has two vegan burgers on its menu (the bleeding Impossible Burger and the Sprouted Burger). For dessert, attendees were served goodies from Pinkberry and Cold Stone Creamery. Said CCA CEO Joey Berlin in an earlier statement, “Baja Fresh and The Counter were able to step up in a big way to support our decision thanks to their diverse menus of tasty food options. Together we are looking forward to providing our incredible honorees, nominees and guests with delicious, and thoughtful, food during our show.”

Just last week the Golden Globes became the first awards show to serve a 100% vegan menu. Vegan actor Joaquin Phoenix, who was instrumental in getting the Golden Globes to serve a plant-based menu, heralded the CCA's decision in his acceptance speech (he won for best actor for his performance in Joker). "First, I'd like to thank the awards for going plant-based and trying to offset our carbon footprint. It's really amazing message,” he said.
