Alia Bhatt To Sell Select Pieces From Her Wardrobe To Raise Funds For Animal Welfare

There are several vegan celebrities in India, and many of them do their bit for animals. Alia Bhatt is one such on-again, off-again vegan and animal welfare advocate. Earlier this year, she partnered with the platform Fankind to raise funds for the charity World For All, which takes care of strays in Mumbai.

This time, she will be selling select pieces from her wardrobe to raise funds for animal welfare, through the sixth edition of fundraiser Mi Wardobe is Su Wardrobe. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to Kalote Animal Trust, an animal shelter which is home to nearly 400 rescued and abandoned animals.

Bhatt, who has been advocating for sustainability and animal welfare through Coexist, has supported MiSu in the past as well. Speaking about the sixth edition, she said, “Sharing garments only benefits the environment and I’m really happy to open my closet to my fans across the globe. This wardrobe includes select pieces that I’ve loved and treasured, including a luxury designer gown worn to a popular pre-awards function. Proceeds from this sale will go towards caring for the animals, both domestic and wild, rescued by the Kalote Animal Trust.”
