"If you're passionate enough about your dream, you make it come true."

That's the mantra 28-year-old  Yash Sheth from Mumbai believed in when he founded his 'pet' venture, Let It Wag.

Launched as an app to help animal lovers connect with each other and rescue or adopt strays; it has built a strong community of over 10k animal lovers across the country in the last two years.

The app essentially acts as a 911 for strays and injured animals. The aim is for users to connect with nearby animal lovers in real time to get help faster. If a user sees an animal in distress, he or she can open the app, click a picture and upload it to the interface. The app traces the location via GPS, and the user then has to choose what the issue is (for example, the animal may have met with an accident) and submit a call for help.

Other app users can accept or reject the request for help, and once accepted, they get connected with the creator of the distress call. In case no one is available to take the request, the user who created the distress call can access the app’s database of vets, NGOs, animal ambulances and vet chemists near them.?

The founder of Let It Wag, Yash

The impact so far? Let It Wag has helped 1800+ dogs, 250+ cats, 20+ pigeons, 1 chicken and 2 cows. Plus, 10 puppies and 2 birds have been adopted! Pretty neat, huh?

The initiative has been applauded and has received many an accolade from celebrities and publications in India.

And now, for the first time, Let It Wag has been shortlisted among the top 30 startups in the world (Startup Pitch Championships ) by technology news portal Techsauce! Let It Wag is the only Indian startup that is making a social impact to be listed, and the winner will be decided through popular vote.

You can vote for this one of a kind app by liking, commenting and sharing this link.

As the founder, Yash Sheth puts it, "I have faith that as we vote towards a better India, we won't leave our furry friends behind, so I'd urge everyone to vote for Waggy Tails too." The voting is open till 3rd May, 10.30 PM IST.
