Audi Unveils Vegan Concept Car

Auto giant Audi unveiled a vegan electric concept car at the recent Los Angeles motor show, called the e-Tron GT. 

The 4-door coupe has been made in collaboration with Porsche, with a nod to sustainability and all things eco-friendly.

• Interiors made from recycled fibres
• Floor carpets made from repurposed fishing nets
• 590 horsepower AWD electric powertrain
• A 90kWh battery that can run for 250 kilometres on a single charge

Animal-based products are not used at all: the Audi e-tron GT concept comes with a vegan interior. Sophisticated, synthetic leather is used on the seats and other trim surfaces. Fabrics made from recycled fibers are used on the seat cushions as well as the armrests and on the center console... Microfiber material adorns the headlining and the trim of the window pillars. Even the deep-pile floor carpet is made from sustainable Econyl yarn, a recycled fiber made from used fishing nets.

The car has been developed to compete with Tesla's vegan-friendly model S, and Audi will begin production in 2020, with plans to add 12 new electric car models to its production line by 2025!
