Australian Company To Launch World’s First Plant-Based Baby Formula

While plant-based alternatives are becoming readily available in more and more areas everyday, they did not extend to baby food, until now. Sprout Organic, an Australian brand, is the first company across the globe to introduce a plant-based baby formula.

Sprout Organic is directed by Sel Berdie, who came up with the idea after he and his wife noticed the absence of a plant-based baby formula in the market. They then took up the initiative to work on baby foods which can provide the right nourishment needed by infants and toddlers.

“As plant-based parents who care deeply about providing the best nutrition for our kids, Jen and I thought it would be possible to find a nutritious plant-based formula that we’d feel comfortable feeding to our kids,” says Berdie.

All of Sprout Organic’s products are pediatrician, dietician and expert-approved. Their initial launch consisted of a variety of organic plant-based kids snack bars. The snack bars are free of soy, dairy and gluten, safe for children with allergies which assist toddlers to shift to solid foods while getting the right nutrition. Their upcoming products include an infant formula, a follow-on formula and a toddler drink - all organic and plant-based.
