AyurVegan- Ayurvedic Vegan Cooking Workshop
There are certain rules we tend to follow without question in our kitchens.
You’re told to add sabja to your water in summer and eat warm peanuts in the winter. You’re told to avoid eating fruit with yoghurt. And of course, turmeric is often the first ingredient to hit the pan, whether you’re making dal or sabzi.
There are some food traditions in India that we don’t meddle with – but have you ever stopped to rationalise why you do what you do? The answer lies in Ayurveda.
Taking Ayurvedic Cooking Global
Many of these principles have their roots in Ayurveda, and there’s a very scientific reason for each one of them.
Vinita Contractor - Founder of Down2Hearth, Nutrition Coach & Wellness Chef, is on a mission to educate people about the benefits of Ayurvedic cooking integrated with a vegan diet. She’s hosting a talk + cooking demo on the principles of Ayurvedic Cooking in the 2018 Bali Vegan Fest in Ubud, on October 7th.
She’s the sole participant from India and will be talking about spices and how to incorporate them into your diet based on your body chemistry or dosha.
Know Your Dosha
Everyone has a different digestive rhythm and internal composition. A Dosha is like an energy blueprint or body type, unique to you.
It’s important to know your Dosha before you plan your meals, as this gives you an idea of what you should eat and how to keep things in balance.
Join The Class
We know all of you can’t make it to Bali – which is why Vinita is hosting a full-fledged, in-depth class in Mumbai later in the month!
You can get to know your food and yourself a little bit closer, with a special Ayurvedic Vegan Cooking Workshop, where you will uncover that good health isn’t just about what you eat, but HOW you eat.
The 3-hour long immersive workshop will focus on the principles of Ayurvedic cooking, use of spices, and, more importantly, teach you how to integrate it with a healthy vegan diet devoid of dairy and animal products.
