In a joyous news for Bengaluru vegans, the famous 100% vegan restaurant Carrots has reopened as a cloud kitchen!

The eight-year-old vegan restaurant had fought hard to stay open during the pandemic but had to finally shut down in January 2021.

Now, it will be running in its new avatar, as a small home business. This initiative was taken by Carrots’ Head Chef Ram Prasad Khatiwada, who will be handling the business alone for now. He aims to create more jobs through this endeavor soon.

The menu will currently be featuring bakery items for now, but if he receives an encouraging response, he will be offering more dishes such as pastas soon. He will be taking orders via Telegram, WhatsApp or call, and delivering all across Bengaluru.

Their timings are Wednesday to Monday, 11 A.M.-7 P.M.

In order to reopen “Carrots 2.0”, Chef Ram needs to raise funds worth five lakhs over the next two months. He will be accepting contributions on Razorpay. In return, he will be offering the contributors their favourite dishes with a special discount.

“Carrots closed in January, but from December itself I had started analyzing the situation. It took me a lot of time, but finally I decided, instead of going and working in a non-vegan place, I will do something in veganism itself, because I’ve been vegan for about six years now. Secondly, most of our boys have lost their jobs and are struggling at home, and it’s very sad to see that, because we had been together for eight years. Many of them are working in non-vegan spaces too. So I wanted to bring us all together again and create more jobs.”

Carrots will be posting regular updates on their website and social media. Till then, you can resume ordering delicious desserts and extend your support to rebuild this vegan spot!
