BREAKING: Borges Nut Mylks Now Available In 25 Barista Outlets In India

Borges has teamed up with the coffee chain Barista to offer its nut mylks in 25 Barista outlets all over India.

Borges' Hazelnut, Walnut and Almond mylks will now be available in Barista chains as plant-based mylk options.

This partnership marks Borges' entry in restaurant chains, which will ensure a wider audience for their plant-based mylks.

The demand for vegan-friendly options in eateries is at an all-time high in India. Last year, Starbucks India introduced almond mylk in their menu, and this year saw the entry of Swedish oat mylk brand Oatly in Starbucks along with some other coffee chains in India.

"Barista offers the brand a lot of potential with the young and corporate customers. They will display it across all counters to create awareness about the options."

When we asked him what was the motive behind the partnership, "People are asking for these options at the coffee shops. Barista used to offer soya mylk as an option earlier, but we have been to offering the Borges beverages as an alternative since February and we noticed that people were coming back and asking for it again."

He adds,

"As expected, the Almond drink is doing the best out of the three. But I personally feel that the Walnut or Hazelnut offer a better mouth-feel. Even the baristas agree. For an additional charge of  Rs.70, any of the three variants can be selected for your coffee. Some people are hesitant about the beverages containing rice, but the very small amount of rice used in them does give it a thicker and sweeter taste which is comparable to what people might be looking for in a vegan beverage." 

"Our intention is to tell the customer that there are vegan options available. Earlier the challenge we faced was that people would try the Borges beverages and not be able to buy them again. With this tie-up it gives us another window to be accessible to more people and also gives us a channel to do some awareness."
