Cadbury’s Vegan Chocolate Bar Is All Set To Launch In Britain From November
15 October 2021
Two years after intense research and development, Cadbury has finally created its first-ever recipe for a plant-based milk chocolate bar. The 197-year-old company has announced that it is all set to launch its vegan chocolate bars starting in November after seeing the demand for plant-based chocolates. While Galaxy and Kitkat had launched their versions, Cadbury believes it’s only fair to hear what their customers say - A Vegan Dairy Milk from Cadbury. To talk about the launch, Cadbury gave out an ‘apology letter’ painted on a wall.
The message says, “Sorry it seemed like we weren’t listening to your calls … And sorry for all the other chocolate you’ve had to eat while you waited. We simply wanted it to be perfect.”
The Demand for Vegan-friendly chocolate bars
Rumors were revolving around in 2020 when a Mondelez spokesperson said, “We’re always listening to our consumers, so we can develop and provide people with greater choice.”
Cadbury plans to launch the vegan dairy milk bars in two flavors - Cadbury Plant Bar Smooth Chocolate and Cadbury Plant Bar Smooth Chocolate with Salted Caramel pieces. When asked about the delay, the brand responded by saying they want to hold off until they perfect the texture and taste that consumers love.
Brands like Aero, Galaxy, Kit Kat, and Hershey’s have already launched their versions of vegan chocolate bars due to the rapid growth in the vegan community and the demand for plant-based foods worldwide.
The Catch - Not just plant-based but eco-conscious too!
Along with making sure the chocolate bar is plant-based, Cadbury is going a step further to try and bring an all-inclusive, eco-friendly packaging for their new product. The bars will come in 100% plant-based packaging made with International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) certified and renewable plastics. There’s also a work-in-progress project to develop recycled soft plastic for their traditional bars.
The Difference you need to know
Cadbury's long-pending vegan chocolate bar has its original glass and a half of traditional milk replaced with almond paste to perfect a texture for ‘delicious and smooth chocolate’ with a zest of nuttiness.
Hitting Britain Stores in November
The new Vegan Cadbury chocolate bars will be available from November at Sainsbury’s. Each 80g bar will cost £2.50, approximately twice the price of the standard Dairy Milk. While this news is confirmed, there’s no news yet on its availability across other countries. Nevertheless, it’s indeed great news for all Vegans!
