Coming Soon: Goodmylk Announces Vegan Cheese Launch

Among a growing demand for vegan alternatives, the Indian alternative dairy brand Goodmylk will be stepping into the vegan cheese market with a plant-based Cheddar cheese.

The brand already offers a number of plant-based dairy alternatives including cashew and oat mylks, vegan mayonnaise, vegan butter and peanut curd. Last year, Goodmylk debuted the peanut curd - which was previously available only in Bengaluru - in Mumbai as well.

As announced on the brand's social media, the product samples for the vegan cheddar cheese are available in Bengaluru through Goodmylk's website. 

The website describes the cheese as:

These samples are not the final product: “This is a product that is under development and will launch after we fine tune it based on customer feedback,” the website explains.

Goodmylk also suggested that the vegan cheese might be launched in Mumbai soon, and hinted towards the pan-India availability of the product.

Other Indian brands offering a variety of vegan cheeses include Live Yum Foods, Soft Spot, Katharos, Violife and Mystic Foods. And now, one of India's most popular alternative dairy brands is expanding its portfolio.

Last year witnessed investments amounting to a groundbreaking $3.1 billion in the global alternative protein sector, according to a Good Food Institute report. Following this trend, 2021 can be a crucial year for new launches in the plant-based sphere.
