Deepika Padukone made a news-making announcement that was even more momentous than her wedding: the launch of her very own self-care business, with skincare as its main focus. She tempted fans, followers, and skincare and wellness enthusiasts around the globe with skincare that embraces an east-meets-west, holistic approach to beauty and self-care. “The brand is rooted in India, yet global in its appeal. This ethos extends to every aspect of 82°E—from the name, to the design of each of our products, and the rituals,” says Deepika.

But in order to give you a look into the actor and current entrepreneur's newest chapter, we give you an insight into the brand she had been keeping under wraps for the last year.

The brand and its inspiration

Padukone muses about her venture, “It’s about simplicity, consistency and patience. Over the years, wherever I am in the world, my self-care rituals have helped me stay grounded and have enabled me to feel centered. We believe in the power of small, consistent steps to achieve lasting results. Our endeavour is to encourage individuals to embrace self-care rituals that nourish the mind, body and spirit.”

For Deepika Padukone, self-care has never been about finding fast solutions but rather about nurturing her mind, body, and spirit. The actor claims that the contemporary self-care company offers top-notch, high-performing goods that produce results through easy, enjoyable rituals. Deepika Padukone hopes that 82°E encourages everyone to connect to their most authentic selves via straightforward acts of self-care. She describes it as an extension of her fundamental set of values and beliefs.

Need for cruelty free skincare

Cruelty-free refers to exactly that. A finished product that was made entirely without endangering or killing any animals. The cruel practise of testing ingredients or completed goods on living animals to determine a product's safety causes this harm. Cosmetics made without cruelty typically contain less synthetic ingredients. Compared to conventional cosmetics, the majority of vegan cosmetics are manufactured with natural components and fewer synthetic chemicals. Because fewer potentially hazardous compounds are released into soils, waterways, and the atmosphere, this is beneficial for the environment. Another factor is that cruelty-free companies have higher requirements and formulate their goods using high-quality components with proven safety records.

They also omit toxic chemicals and other harmful substances that might hurt your health and irritate your skin. Animal testing exposes humans to substances that are damaging to the environment as well as individuals who use the goods on their skin. These substances may not always be appropriate for our skin. Natural ingredients, on the other hand, are a better choice overall for people, animals, and the environment.

Launch of 2 cruelty free skincare products

82°E was co-founded by Jigar K. Shah and Deepika. Last week, the pair jointly unveiled their new brand. Under her recently launched self-care brand 82°E, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone on Tuesday introduced Ashwagandha Bounce, a revitalising moisturiser, and Patchouli Glow, a sunscreen drop. According to the company's official Instagram post, the Ashwagandha Bounce, a moisturising product with sodium hyaluronate and ashwagandha, is available for $2,700. Patchouli Glow, on the other hand, retails for $1,800 and consists of nutritious sunscreen drops enriched with patchouli and ceramides.

These items have been carefully created to simplify skincare and address the hydration and protection essentials for healthy skin. Both products have completed rigorous clinical studies and safety evaluations. These products are vegan, cruelty free.

Founders share their two cents on their venture

Deepika said, "Two years ago we set out to create a modern self-care brand that is born in India, for the world. Pronounced eighty-two east, our brand is inspired by the standard meridian that runs longitudinally through India and shapes our relationship with the rest of the world. The first step in that direction is our range of skincare products that have been rigorously sourced, carefully crafted, and clinically tested so you can build simple, joyful, and effective everyday rituals to care for the health of your skin. And while this journey of discovery and learning has been mine so far, I am beyond thrilled to finally share it with all of you." In the meantime, Jigar K Shah clarified on LinkedIn, "Deepika and I reviewed over 500+ names (that we rejected due to various reasons) and when we finally came across 82°E - we instantly fell in love with it. It immediately struck a chord. Some of the best consumer brand names have an engaging story and clearly communicate the core brand ethos and vision. For me, 82°E does just that! It instantly appealed to both my left and right brain. Not only does the name evoke curiosity but it also authentically and subtly represents our core brand vision of being rooted in India yet global and modern in appeal."

What to expect from Deepika’s 82°E

A contemporary self-care brand named 82°E was created in India for the entire world. 82°E blends potent scientific compounds with time-proven, traditionally used Indian ingredients to give you healthier skin. It is rigorously sourced, meticulously made, and clinically evaluated. Cleanser, toner, moisturiser, eye cream, and sunscreen are among the products in the brand's first skincare line. While launching the two products, Deepika said, "With 82°E, I hope to inspire us all to connect with our truest, most authentic selves through consistent and humble self-care practices." What we now await is the launch of the rest of the products from her skincare line and the unique facets they may be endowed with!
