Delhi’s Largest Green Diwali Celebration – Ekatva Festival 2024 Marks Another Year of Success!

New Delhi, October 27, 2024 — The Ekatva Festival, India’s most beloved green festival, returned for its second edition on October 27 at the serene Sunder Nursery Gardens in Delhi. The event brought together a community passionate about sustainable living and celebrating Diwali in harmony with nature. From eco-conscious shopping and plant-based organic foods to interactive workshops and an incredible lineup of live performances, Ekatva 2024 once again united people from all walks of life for an unforgettable green celebration.

The festival was graced by Chief Guest Smt. Kalpana Das, a passionate advocate for human rights, gender equality, and veganism, along with her husband, Shri Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, Chief Justice of India, and their daughters. Their presence highlighted the festival’s commitment to conscious consumerism, sustainability, and a vegan lifestyle.

Honorable Chief Justice of India Shri Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud addressed the audience, saying, “The path that our two daughters, Priyanka and Mahi, created for us to lead a cruelty-free lifestyle has been transformative. Everyone asks me, 'Where do you get your protein from?' When I embraced veganism, I realized that the body has its own way of adjusting to your diet. I feel much more fit now that I am a vegan, but that’s secondary. I don’t do it just for myself; I practice it for a more sustainable world—a world that embraces kindness, tolerance, and inclusivity toward other sentient beings. Veganism is intrinsically rooted in our culture. I want to congratulate the organizers for bringing this together, where people across society can embrace this lifestyle.”

Ekatva 2024 welcomed over 50 vegan and planet-conscious homegrown brands, creating an immersive shopping experience featuring unique products such as upcycled clothing, vegan ice creams and yogurts, plant-based meats, organic foods, millet products, clean-label beauty items, and artisanal finds. Visitors enjoyed an engaging lineup at the Main Stage, featuring live cook-offs, stand-up comedy, expert talks, and captivating musical performances. For families, the Kids’ Area offered hands-on creative activities that educated and entertained.

The Ekatva Festival was organized by Vegan First, India’s leading platform for all things plant-based. The festival was a zero-waste event, supported by GATS as the Sustainability Partner, the Delhi Municipal Corporation, and the Why Waste Wednesdays Foundation. The festival also took pride in the invaluable support from its sponsors: Nattier as the Health Partner, PopSockets as the Gifting Partner, and PETA India as the Knowledge Partner. Their commitment to Ekatva’s mission made this year’s festival a truly holistic experience, connecting wellness, sustainability, and community values.

Palak Mehta, Founder and CEO of Vegan First, states, “We live in a society where we have an abundance of choices, which brings both benefits and challenges. Some of these choices can heal the planet, while others can cause irreversible harm. Choosing compassionate products that are vegan, cruelty-free, and sustainable is the need of the hour. The Ekatva festival is a movement that showcases these alternatives and brings a like-minded tribe together.”

This year’s festival received enthusiastic coverage from hundreds of influencers, actors, bloggers, and industry veterans, garnering media attention in major publications. Their support played a crucial role in amplifying the festival’s message of green living and conscious celebration.

Ekatva Festival will return next year to celebrate a kinder, greener, and cleaner Diwali for all beings.
