Ellen DeGeneres Encourages Fans To #EatLessMeat
Comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is known to use her platform to bring awareness to a variety of causes. And this time, she's asking fans to cut down on (or completely do away with) meat.
In a Twitter post to her almost 79 million followers, DeGeneres asked users to "be neat" and '#EatLessMeat." She talks about how avoiding meat consumption is better for the animals, the planet and our health.
Be neat. Eat less meat. It’s good for the planet, for the animals, and you. @WATWbook #wearetheweather #eatdifferently #EatLessMeat #BeNeatEatLessMeat #ByeBye pic.twitter.com/BOA32PUHbk

DeGeneres used to follow a vegan diet for 8 years, but in late 2018, in her Netflix special Relatable, she admitted that she wasn't vegan anymore and that she occasionally eats a piece of fish and eggs. She said, "I was healthier than I'd ever been, I loved being vegan. But in the last year or two for no real reason, I started eating a piece of fish once in a while. Or I'll eat eggs from chickens I know - if they are in someone's backyard or are happy."
