Ahimsa is the highest duty. Even if we can't practice it in full, we must understand its spirit and refrain as far as is humanly possible from violence' - Mahatma Gandhi

The Ahimsa Parmo Dharma group is proud to announce The Ahimsa Festival 2020 - the biggest Vegan festival of India, an initiative to spread awareness on compassion for oneself, the environment, health and animals too.

After four successful mega-fests, the fifth edition is scheduled for Sunday 26th January 2020 at the Holy Family grounds in Andheri East Mumbai. The fest will consist of 150+ exhibitors from all over India, cooking demonstrations, children's activities, parenting sessions, fitness talks by top athletes from India, and the much-loved loved Ahimsa Cafe - lip-smacking Vegan food from all around the country!

The fest will also have fitness gyaan and demo sessions by top athletes from India such as Sandeep Kumar (the fastest Indian at Comrades ultra marathon), Gunjan Sharma  (India’ss top calisthenics and parkour athlete), Abhishek Thevar (professional bodybuilder). Dr Nandita Shah, Narishakti award winner from 2016, founder of SHARAN India and a pioneer in the field of health and nutrition, will be giving a talk. The schedule also has Dr Tushar Mehta, an emergency medicine doctor from Canada, sharing his experiences about climate change and animal agriculture, as well as Varda Mehrotra, the Executive Director at FIAPO. TEDx speaker and magician Chirag Jethwaney will also be on stage, combining elements of Veganism and magic in his performance.

"Ahimsa is the need of the hour, and by organising such fests we enable others to acknowledge that it is possible to live a life of compassion through what we eat, what we wear and more," said Atul Doshi, a member of the core committee. The fest will focus a lot on the environment as well as the need to protect our planet. "Water conservation is a must," said Saroj Choudhary of the core committee "so is the importance of home gardening, zero waste, composting and more. We aim to make people aware of all these aspects too."

All the products sold at the fest will be based on the principle of Ahimsa. Music and fun is also on the cards. For any more details, kindly contact Atul Doshi on 98211 27475.

The Ahimsa Fest will be from 10 am to 10 pm at the Holy Family Grounds - Andheri East on Sunday, 26th January 2020.
