Global vegan fast food chain ‘Odd Burger’ to launch 145 outlets in India!

Odd Burger, an international vegan fast-food chain is set to establish a whopping 145 restaurant outlets across India in a span of ten years. The chain has entered into a non-binding letter of intent (LoI) with Earthlings Canada, a development group, for the same, as part of which they will also open 5 establishments in Singapore.

 

The inaugural Odd Burger outlet is scheduled to commence operations in Mumbai before the conclusion of 2023. Notably, this flagship store will also serve as a model for future franchises within the region. 

 

Odd Burger's menu offers plant-based chicken sandwiches, onion rings, wraps, milkshakes and the popular Famous Burger, which is a vegan rendition of McDonald's iconic Big Mac made with chickpea-based patties and vegan cheese.

James McInnes, the co-founder and CEO of Odd Burger, emphasised the immense growth potential present in the Indian market while talking to international media. McInnes stated, “The Indian market presents a significant opportunity for expansion. It is estimated that there are approximately 574 million individuals following a meat-free diet in India, with an impressive 126 million adhering to a vegan lifestyle. By collaborating with Earthlings Canada, we can leverage their local connections and expertise to effectively cater to this vast and continuously expanding market.”

 

A definitive agreement is expected to be reached on or before May 31, 2023. Following this milestone, Earthlings Canada may secure the master franchise rights for both India and Singapore. 

 

Commenting on this development, Utsang Desai from Earthlings Canada, said, “We anticipate an overwhelming response upon introducing Odd Burger to the Indian market. The demand for an industry-leading brand like Odd Burger is palpable, as consumers seek a brand that not only envisions a sustainable future but also provides accessibility to plant-based dining experiences.”
