Goodness Beyond The Bottle: Reuse & Recyle With Plum

It’s safe to say that as conscious consumerism is on the rise, we’ve gotten pretty good at making sure we make more responsible choices when it comes to what goes into our products and where they come from.

Vegan, cruelty-free products that contain zero animal products and derivatives are becoming more mainstream, and more shoppers are seeking them out.

But what about the rest of the cycle – is the packaging sustainable? And what happens to those empty bottles? They get tossed – and even with waste segregation, consumers can’t really be sure about where those empty packs end up.

Well, the good news is that there are brands out there who are working to change the game. Our friends over at Plum, for starters, make sure that only recyclable packaging is used in all products.

And now, they are on a mission to make sure that their vegan, cruelty-free, good-for-your products keep the goodness going, even after you’ve used up their products!

Recycle With Plum, Get More!

Plum has a unique recycling programme called #Empties4Good– a scheme where consumers can send their cleaned, dried, empty bottles and tubes in exchange for Rs. 50 in shopping credits. It’s pretty easy: once you’ve used up all the “goodness,” you can send your empties in a box or a strong envelope to the folks at Plum – and they will send it to a verified recycler. Here’s where you can send your empties:

Pureplay Skin Sciences Pvt. Ltd

Building no. 60, Gala No. 101, First Floor,

Indian Corporation,

Mumbai-Nashik Highway,

Vilage Gundavli, Bhiwandi,

Dist. Thane - 421302

If you can’t send it yourself, you can request Plum to come over to your home and pick it up. Email Plum customer care on hello@plumgoodness.com, and ask for a free pickup of your empties.

Within 15 days of pickup, you will receive shopping credits worth Rs. 50 in your email inbox!

Upcycle DIY Magic

We have to admit – Plum’s packaging is pretty darn cute. Upcycling is also a great way to use up those empty bottles and tubs. Plum also has a fun campaign called #RecreateGood, where you can refashion your empties to create fun, quirky and innovative décor and storage - like this glittery mini-vase!
