Gordon Ramsey has come a long way towards accepting that plant-based food is here to stay.

So much so that on his show Future Food Stars which airs on BBC Food in the UK, he created a vegan social media challenge for the four semi-finalists.

And he invited extremely popular social media food stars from Sheffield, BOSH!.

BOSH! – THE MOST-WATCHED PLANT-BASED CHANNEL

BOSH! with over 2million followers on TikTok itself is one of the most-watched plant-based food channels to come from the UK.

Sheffield based duo, Henry Firth and Ian Theasby had to relearn how to eat and cook when Henry decided to go vegan after watching Kip Anderson’s Cowspiracy. Ian was already vegan by then.

They started a TikTok channel called BOSH! that went viral with the very first video they posted. From there on they grew because of the way they presented vegan food and the simplicity of the recipes and ingredients they used.

The duo wrote a cookbook and even launched vegan cake mixes, savoury mixes, spices, ready meals and sweet treats that are available all over the UK.

Their latest accomplishment has seen them invited to be judges on Gordon Ramsey's popular show, Future Food Stars as judges.

FUTURE FOOD STARS

Gordon Ramsey, Michelin starred chef and CEO of a global food business empire, also the most popular chef on social media is host and chief judge of the show.

The show features talented individuals who have a food related business idea that has the chance to be backed with a  £1,50,000 investment from Gordon himself.

The show currently has four contestants remaining who are battling it out to get the grand prize.

As part of the first round of the semi-finals, the contestants had to create a 30 second video for social media to test their social media skills. The topic for the videos, “my favourite subject - veganism”, according to Gordon.

The four contestants exclaimed in excitement at the challenge. The most excited though was the only vegan contestant, a baker named Valencia.

THE VIDEOS

The contestants were divided into two teams and set out on the task of creating their videos.

One duo chose to make a video about easy vegan alternatives to meat and the other duo made a vegan “tuna” sandwich with chickpeas.

Gordon then invited the judges, Henry and Ian to pick their favourite video.

The BOSH! duo selected the video that they liked best and the contestants had to go ahead and get to the next challenge.

Gordon Ramsey had been averse for a long time to veganism and plant-based food, even once saying he was “allergic to vegans”.

The turnaround came slowly but surely, and he even appeared in an ad to promote oat milk.
