Hyderabad Gets Another 100% Vegan Cafe!

Barely months after Hyderabad was adjudged as India's most vegan-friendly city for 2019 by PETA, the twin cities' vegan community has another reason to celebrate - a new 100% vegan eatery, The Weekend Café. True to its name, the cafe is open for business on weekends only and closed on weekdays. Speaking with VeganFirst, cafe owner Krishna Vikas informed that orders are taken on a pre-order basis. "Our dishes take time to make so they need to be pre-ordered one-two hours in advance. Also, our produce comes in fresh everyday and nothing is stored for long. Something that's easy to make, like coffee, can be ordered anytime," informed Vikas, whose plant-based cafe is located in Secunderabad.

Buzz around the launch of this wholly vegan cafe lifted the spirits of vegan foodies in the twin cities after the much-loved 100% vegan deli, Smart Alec, shut down operations in June this year. Little more than a month old, this entirely vegan cafe offers toasts, wraps, pastas, coffees, teas, coolers among other goodies on its menu. Going by its social media buzz, its seitan-based burger and cauliflower hot wings are a hit with its customers. The cafe is open from 5 pm to 9 pm on Fridays and from 10 am to 9 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
