Indian Plant-Based Startup Mister Veg Raises Rs. 4.25 Crore Funding from Jubilant Ingrevia

The Faridabad-based plant-based start-up Mister Vegan has entered a shareholder agreement with Jubilant Ingrevia on February 18, 2021 and raised Rs. 4,25,00,000 ($570,000). The brand is going to use this capital to expand and distribute plant-based alternatives across the country.

Mister Veg is the first Indian brand to offer plant-based seafood. It is developed from grains and has a high nutritional value. Founded by Simarjeet Singh,  the startup was also selected for the ProVeg international incubator programme in 2020.

Jubilant Ingrevia, a flagship company of Jubilant Bhartia offers innovative solutions for different sectors, including pharmaceutical, nutrition, agrochemical, consumer and industrial sectors. Another flagship company of Jubilant Bhartia is Jubilant FoodWorks, the parent company of Domino’s Pizza. Domino's also recently announced its venture into plant-based meats and released a plant-based protein pizza called The Unthinkable Pizza in December 2020. 

With this partnershipship Mister Veg plans to expand it's portfolio of mock meats and reach the masses.
