India's Biggest Animal Liberation March

Mumbai will host the nation’s biggest animal liberation march this April. On the 28th of the month, activists from all over India will converge at Shivaji Park to seek justice for animals. The organizers are on a mission to bring more people together for the cause and to spread the message of veganism and speciesism.

The aim of the march? To make more people aware that animals and humans need to coexist, instead of exploiting them - and that freedom is an undeniable right of all sentient being, regardless of their species. This will be the first march of this size and scale, and volunteers and activists from all over India are slated to attend.

"The endeavour is to urge people to re-think about the commodity status assigned to non-human animal persons on the arbitrary and unjust basis of species."

Chandran also adds, “Most people don’t approve of animal cruelty but societal conditioning disconnects us from animal suffering.”
