Introducing India’s First Certified Plant-Based Nutrition Programme

There’s good news for anyone who is interested in getting a deeper understanding of plant-based nutrition in India: now there’s a course being offered at BMN college that focuses exclusively on the subject.

Launched by KB Health founder Kajal Bhatia (who is also a certified whole-food nutritionist and diabetes educator), the course is being offered at Dr. BMN College of Home Science in Matunga, Mumbai and will focus on whole food plant-based nutrition and the link between diet and lifestyle diseases. Eating meat and dairy increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, type-2 diabetes, certain types of cancer and kidney failure, according to studies.  Ms. Bhatia's expertise lies in preventing and reversing lifestyle disorders like diabetes, cholesterol, weight and hormonal disorder all with the power of natural foods.

The course has been designed to give nutritionists an unparalleled knowledge upgrade. The structure and content of the program includes:

• Introduction to Plant-Based Nutrition
• Impact of Plant-Based Diets on Health
• Plant-Based Approach to lifestyle disorder reversal
• Hands-on experience with a practical session

To enrol, a graduate degree in nutrition has been mandated. The pilot program was conducted in January and KBH has lined up a schedule for more.
All participants of the programme were felicitated with a Certificate of Completion from Dr BMN College and KB Health.
