Katrina Fox Empowers Vegan Women Leaders To Take The Vegan Business World By Storm

In a world ridden with Covid-19, many realise that the pandemic is caused due to our food system which heavily relies on animal agriculture. Hence championing veganism is the need of the hour. Vegan Women’s Leadership Network is a diverse global community presenting vegan women with opportunities to participate in ethical leadership to do precisely this.

We caught up with Katrina Fox, the founder of the Vegan Women Leadership Program. Fox is an award-winning journalist and has been writing for animal rights advocacy for 18 years. She is also the host of the Vegan Business Talk and Conversations with Vegan Women Leaders podcasts and has authored Vegan Ventures: Start and Grow an Ethical Business. Being an inspiration to vegan women in business, the Vegan Women Leadership Network was her endeavour to lend a helping hand to vegan business owners through training and knowledge of their respective fields.

In an exclusive interview with Vegan First, Fox revealed, “At the start of 2020 I felt called to serve in the area of women’s leadership and to support vegan women in particular as I believe we need leaders who champion compassion and equitable treatment for all beings. When Covid-19 hit in March, I pre-launched a global membership-based network that helps vegan women to become leaders in their field – whatever that looks like for them – to see if there was interest in such a community. It turns out that there was!”

The Vegan Women’s Leadership Network officially launched in July and they currently have members worldwide from a range of professional backgrounds, including entrepreneurs, investors, venture capitalists, corporate employees, non-profit founders and more. The network allows vegan women from all across the globe to learn, collaborate and share opportunities and support with each other.

It offers a virtual meetup space as well as live webinars and interviews with inspiring vegan women from a varying background. Apart with this, it extends resources, online training and practical support to its members to grow in their fields as leaders. The Vegan Women Leadership Network also wishes to undertake in-person events in the future and expand their global reach.

“I believe that we need vegan women leaders now more than ever post-Covid-19 who are committed to improving society and political and economic systems. And we need to amplify more women’s voices from outside the West, including India. As India is the youngest population globally, there is the opportunity to network with and learn from vegan leaders globally,” Fox told Vegan First.

Katrina Fox is an inspiration for many. She is an experienced vegan PR professional who has been an agent for change who is excited about more Indian vegan women participating in the network in the future, and commends the growth of veganism in the country.

“Having been vegan for 24 years, I’m excited by the growth of both plant-based living and business, as well as ethical veganism and I’m particularly happy to see the growth of these globally. Entrepreneurs in India are making waves in the plant-based space and by working together we can all contribute to positive change in the world. I’d love to welcome more wonderful vegan women leaders from India into the network.”

The Vegan Women Leadership Network generates opportunities for their members through partnerships. They partnered with Veg Fest UK in August 2020 for the Summer fest Online virtual event and organized two panel discussions featuring vegan women from around the globe, including India.
