KFC Going Healthy - Introduces Vegetarian Option In The UK

KFC aka Kentucky Fried Chicken is well known around the world for their fried chicken-based dishes.

They have just announced that they will be tweaking their menu in the UK to feature healthier options, including a completely vegetarian one.

This is similar to McDonalds introducing the McVegan burger, which proved to be quite the hit. Will this result in more plant-based options from KFC and other meat-centered fast food chains? "KFC going Vegan", could that be a news of the future?

Well judging by the way Vegan alternatives and options in such chains have worked in the past, there's no doubt that it will. TGI Fridays in the U.S. is serving the well known Beyond Meat Burger and also has an exclusive Vegan menu in its UK Chains. White Castle and Shake Shack have also added vegan burgers on their menu recently, and Dominoes also serve Vegan Pizzas in Australia. 

This move was actually on par with a plan introduced by Public Health UK to slash calories in meals. KFC reported on The Mirror that  “By 2020, the company plan to have more lunch and dinner options available under 600 calories, in line with Public Health England’s recent campaign,”
