KFC Launches Beyond Meat’s Plant-Based Nuggets & Wings

Kentucky Fried Chicken, one of the largest fast-food chains in the world, will test plant-based chicken nuggets and boneless wings by Beyond Meat at an outlet in Atlanta, Georgia USA.

On August 27th, customers will be given samples of the vegan menu items along with their orders. Based on customer feedback, they will roll out these options nationwide. “Customer feedback from the Atlanta test will be considered as KFC evaluates a broader test or potential national rollout,” KFC said in a statement.

KFC, owned by Yum! Brands, is the latest chain to jump on the vegan bandwagon to cater to the rising demand for plant-based alternatives.

Beyond Meat has already partnered with other chains like Subway, Del Taco, Dunkin’ Donuts, Carl’s Jr and Tim Horton’s (in Canada) to offer vegan meat alternatives to sausages, burgers and ground beef. This is the brand’s first major foray into chicken substitutes, which are rising in popularity.

The plant-based nuggets and wings come in 6 or 12 piece combo meals priced at $6.49 and $8.49 (nuggets) and $6 and $12 (boneless wings).
