Legacy brand Borges wins international award for its plant-based rice walnut milk

As the world continues to witness a shift towards conscious products, international recognition gets bestowed upon a plant-based drink! The Borges Natura Rice and Walnut Drink has recently won the 2023 Superior Taste Award by the International Taste Institute. 

This award holds high value among the F&B industry of Europe and Asia, as the winners are selected by a jury comprising the world’s best chefs and sommeliers. The winners are chosen based on five factors — first impression, vision, olfaction, taste and texture.

Apart from the walnut milk, Borges nut drinks are available in two other variants i.e. Almond and Hazelnut. Borges is a 125-year-old Mediterranean brand with a rich legacy. It began in 1896, when the Pont Creus family started selling olives and almonds in Tàrrega, Spain. As years passed, the small family business expanded with installations of industrialised oil mills. Within a few years, the family achieved bulk sales with the help of refineries. 

In 1957, they began exporting their products and within a few years, the brand Borges was born. From dominating the market in Spain to making their presence felt in over a 100 countries today, Borges has come a long way. They entered India in 2009.
