Mars Is Launching Vegan Milk Chocolate Galaxy Bars

Chocolate brands are upping their game and waking up to the need for vegan versions of their products!

Mars, one of the largest candy manufacturers in the world, will be launching vegan variants of their popular Galaxy brand of milk chocolates. While there are several vegan options available in dark chocolate, this is the first time that a mainstream confectionary brand is offering vegan milk chocolate.

The bars will be launched in the UK and will be certified by the Vegan Society UK. They will go on sale next week at in supermarkets and on Amazon. And it gets better- there will be 3 flavours to choose from: Smooth Orange, Caramel & Sea Salt and Caramelised hazelnut.

Mars (which happens to be the world's largest confectionery brand), said the product was 6 months in the making, and that the taste and texture remain very similar to the dairy version of Galaxy. Milk chocolate is harder to make vegan, due to the high dairy content which gives it it’s creamy texture.

“The taste of Galaxy has not changed in the nearly 60 years since it was launched. We wanted to retain the classic smooth and creamy taste and texture without any compromise.”

Mars has a range of Galaxy products in India as well, but none of the chocolates are vegan.
