MasterChef Style Fully-Vegan Cooking Competition, ‘Peeled’, To Debut In July 2022

An all-vegan cooking competition based on the likes of MasterChef will be airing on a US network in July-August 2022. The founders of vKind, an online resource website and mobile listing app are producing the show titled ‘Peeled’.

What was originally supposed to be just an episode on their YouTube channel vKind Vibes, soon turned into a series due to popular demand for an all-vegan cooking competition. The creators have taken inspiration from all formats of cooking shows and have, for the first time, designed a 100% vegan competition.

“As a vegan and a foodie, I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with cooking shows,” Star Simmons, founder of vKind and show creator, said. “Peeled allows vegans and vegetarians to enjoy cooking shows again and gives plant-based culinary arts a platform to be taken seriously.”

THE HOSTS AND JUDGES

The show will be hosted by popular raw vegan Chef Babette Davis and TV personality and health expert Dr. Shabnam Islam. Chef Josie Clemens, a vegan chef who previously participated in Gordon Ramsay’s ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ joins as co-creator and one of the judges.

“Competing in Hell’s Kitchen was a great experience, but not at all hospitable for a vegan chef like me who would otherwise never opt to cook anything that wasn’t entirely plant-based,” said Chef Josie Clemens. “I was thrilled to learn that vKind would be producing an all-vegan cooking competition. Signing on as co-creator was a no-brainer for me.”

Sophie’s Kitchen CEO Dr. Miles Woodruff, “New Day, New Chef” Executive Producer Elysabeth Alfano, and Los Angeles celebrity chef and baker Chris Tucker, best known for his stylish, Southern-inspired pastries will be joining Chef Josie as judges.

THE COMPETITION

The show will feature vegan contestants who have no qualms about their vegan journeys. The creators have tried to pick contestants with varied personalities who will be assigned tough culinary challenges. The judges will then score the contestants and the contestant with the lowest score will be “peeled” off to the compost bin. The remaining chefs will then prep for the next challenge.
 

Peeled is slated to premiere In July/August 2022 and will be available on UnchainedTV, which is accessible through Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, IOS, Android, and the web.
