Mohanji Foundation Introduces Its First-Ever Vegan Cafe at Kumbh Mela

The Maha Kumbh Mela is the world’s largest religious and rare spiritual gathering, which occurs once every 144 years. Millions of devotees, seekers, and spiritual practitioners converged at this grand confluence; the Maha Kumbh enjoyed the vegan delicacies at the Ahimsa cafe.

For the first time, the Mohanji Foundation has established its presence at the Kumbh Mela, offering a sanctuary of self-realization and inner stability. The Mohanji Village, situated at Sector 24, Someshwar Mahadev Ghat in Prayagraj, serves as a sacred space dedicated to Raja Yoga, the timeless path of self-connection. Over 1,000 participants from 25 countries have visited the Village during the 45-day event, seeking spiritual growth and transformation.

The Mohanji Foundation presents the only vegan cafe at the Maha Kumbh Mela. The Cafe has become an incredible opportunity to carry the message of compassionate living through action. Despite the logistical challenges of operating in the rudimentary conditions of the Kumbh, the cafe thrives, serving fresh, hygienic, and delicious food while creating a beautiful ambiance and promoting the message of compassionate living.

With limited access to basic necessities, the café’s ability to maintain both diversity and quality is nothing short of a miracle—a testament to the incredible spirit of the Mohanji Foundation and the Beejom team.

Beyond serving food, Mohanji Village offers a rich spiritual experience at Kumbh Mela, including sacred ritual dips (snans) with Mohanji, daily homas, Rudram Abhishekam, and Aratis at the Sai Baba temple. Seekers can engage in transformative practices like the Maitri Method, Future Mapping, and guided meditations for deep healing and self-awareness. Daily Satsangs with Mohanji provide profound insights and guidance.

In line with Mohanji’s vision of selfless service, Annadaan (food donation) is conducted twice daily, feeding hundreds and fostering compassion, bringing fulfillment to both the giver and receiver.

Ahimsa Cafe by Beejom 

Adding to the unique offerings of the Mohanji Foundation, the Ahimsa Cafe by Beejom stands as the first and only vegan café at the Maha Kumbh 2025. The Beejom team has played a pivotal role in making this vision a reality. Their dedication to promoting veganism and sustainable living aligns perfectly with the spiritual ethos of the Maha Kumbh.

Since Beejom specializes in vegan cuisine and advocates for compassionate living, they were thrilled to bring their vegan repertoire to life in this café and showcase it at the world's largest congregation. 

The Ahimsa Cafe is more than just a food outlet—it embodies spiritual consciousness. With its rustic décor, twinkling lights, and soulful music, the café offers a warm and inviting space where visitors can experience the harmony of body, mind, and soul through ethical eating.

The cafe’s menu caters to a diverse audience and serves classic Indian dishes like Onion Bhajia, Whole Wheat Chole Bhature, Chana Dal Vada, and Podi Masala Millet Dosa. Additionally, international favorites such as artisanal pizzas, fresh pasta pomodoro, veggie-loaded Hakka noodles, beetroot sweet potato burgers, PBJ sandwiches, and hummus toast have gained popularity among the global visitors at KumbhtoSweet delights like Sattu Cocoa Muffins, Moongdalmoongdal, Halwamolina Pudding further add to the culinary experience.

Renowned for its warm hospitality, the café has gained popularity through word of mouth, attracting visitors from far and wide.

It’s quite incredible and humbling to witness a vibrant energy among people who have come from everywhere, using every bit of their money and resources to celebrate the grand confluence of three sacred rivers. It is a testimony of the spirit of Seva at the Mohanji Foundation-led Ahimsa Cafe, which serves clean, hygienic, and delicious food day in and day out. The variety of the food options on the food menu feels like a Sangam of sorts.

The underlying message is that the greatest spirituality we can practice truly begins with caring for the earth and its beings and living in the most sentient way possible.
