Mumbai Welcomes New 100% Vegan Store, Launched By Greend

Making vegan purchases is becoming easier by the day with e-commerce platforms offering everything from dairy and meat replacements to luxury vegan snacks. In an attempt to make vegan shopping more accessible to consumers who may find it difficult to order from online platforms, Greend has set up a 100% vegan store in Powai, Mumbai.

Sephra Abrahan, the co-founder and CEO of Greend, came up with the idea of a physical store which was launched on 28th February 2021. The store is located between Ghodbundar road and Khar to fill the vacuum of vegan-friendly retailers in the area. Its layout was designed by a Mumbai-based independent architecture firm called Rad Co. Lab.

This isn’t Mumbai’s first vegan retailer, as the city already harbours stores like Rare Earth and SHARAN Organic, which have already been catering to vegans and flexitarians in the area. With another addition to this list, Mumbai’s environmentally and ethically conscious audience is surely growing.

There are more than a hundred brands available in the store, with over 300 products to choose from. All products are 100% vegan and are divided under various categories like gluten-free, sugar-free, chocolates, healthy snacking, preservative-free, hemp, protein, etc. Apart from that, the store also offers products which are cruelty-free and zero-waste.

Greend features popular dairy and meat replacement brands such as Goodmylk, Gooddot, and LiveYum, as well as accidentally vegan products. They also recently launched their all-vegan e-commerce platform in February.

The introduction of a new vegan store in Mumbai not only promotes a sustainable lifestyle in one of the most commercially active cities in the country, but also helps spread awareness about veganism and its ideals to the average Indian consumer. It’s also a step forward in making the country more inclusive of plant-based diets by eco-friendly and ethical consumption more accessible.
