New Vegan Cafe in Puducherry To Launch Alongside Earth Story

From sightseeing to cultural monuments, the laid-back town of Pondicherry has always been an interesting destination for tourists, and of course, the go-to weekend destination for Chennaiites.

And now, with an exclusively vegan café named Vegan Zeals coming up alongside a franchise of Earth Story, this quaint town just got a lot more charming!

Café Vegan Zeals is all set to open on 16 December 2018. Its founder, Gayathri Shankar, transitioned to veganism only 11 months ago after her daughter influenced her to do so. And it doesn’t stop there. Together, they managed to influence Gayathri’s mother to open up to veganism too. Now, 2 months later, she’s still going strong with vegan curds and dairy-free coffee.

Gayathri’s source of inspiration for the café was the lack and limitation of vegan options available in Puducherry. “Some restaurants were friendly and made adjustments while the others bluntly rejected”, she said.

This encouraged her to do something for the vegan community and start a 100% vegan café that also offered no-oil based recipes. With the help and support of her family, the cafe is now set to launch alongside the first ever Earth Story store in Puducherry.  The menu will provide a variety of soups, starters, pizzas & pastas, and baked goods like marble cake, cranberry muffins and more.
