PBFIA Gears Up for 3rd Plant Based Foods Summit in Delhi on 21st May 2024

Offering a visionary platform for industry players and exhibitors to cultivate the advantages of plant-based products widely, Plant Based Foods Industry Association (PBFIA) is gearing up for its 3rd Plant Based Foods Summit in the capital on 21st May 2024. After four mega conventions that brought together industry titans and sparked groundbreaking initiatives, the plant-based sector is pacing up for a transformative era. Presented by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&Fw), The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the 3rd Chapter of the annual summit will be held at the Hotel Le Meridien, Windsor Palace, New Delhi, supported by Ernst & Young as the Knowledge Partner. 

The flagship summit will be graced by Shri Rajesh Agrawal, Addl Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Shri G. Kamalavardhana Rao, CEO of FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) as the Guest of Honor accompanied by Dr Sudhanshu, Secretary, APEDA; Dr. Rajeev Singh, Director General, Indian Chambers of Commerce; Gaurav Taneja, Partner and Leader Government &  Public Sector, Ernst & Young and other dignitaries. 

The 3rd Plant Based Foods Summit is poised to be an unprecedented event, bringing a diverse range of plant-based foods from various companies and startups, allowing exhibitors to showcase their innovative products and forging connections with key industry players such as potential customers, investors, and partners are some highlights of the agenda. The convention will also feature panel discussions and immersive sessions led by industry experts and policymakers as keynote speakers, who will bring out substantial yet overlooked aspects of the plant-based industry. Veterans and specialists will be engaging in fruitful discussions to understand the strategies to bust ultra-processing tags and ways to reduce price parity by increasing the export potential of India. This  gathering aims to amplify the vision by providing insights into the industry's latest trends, sustainability, innovations, and prospects.

With international participation, the 3rd Plant Based Food Summit has garnered support from a  multitude of companies and institutions. Josh Tetrick, the visionary Co-Founder and CEO of Eat Just Inc., is set to grace the 3rd Plant Based Foods Summit in New Delhi on May 21st. With the industry abuzz over their innovative plant-based egg from Mung, Tetrick's presence promises to explore the potential of India as a Mung exporter and explore export partnerships by leveraging its robust agricultural sector for mutual growth.

The upcoming 5th Mega Convention is a promising platform to explore and discuss the latest developments and trends, gaining valuable insights into the evolving landscape of plant-based industries. While exhibitors will find ample opportunities to explore partnerships and integrations across various sectors, it is also a comprehensive rostrum for B2B marketing among retail and distribution to e-commerce, hospitality, and food & beverage industries. The holistic agenda opens doors for forward and backward integrations, ensuring a holistic concentration towards building and connecting the ecosystem. The summit will include live culinary shows demonstrating the wide assortment of options under a plant-based lifestyle, felicitations and recognition of members and the emergence of soy and other plant-based ingredients. Specifically targeting plant protein clusters, the session 'Harnessing India's Potential through Plant Protein Clusters' tries to bring forward industry challenges and emphasise sustainability with local raw materials and resource efficiency, while also addressing food security in growing population areas.
