Urban Platter Now Has A Physical Store In Mumbai

Urban Platter, an epicurean marketplace has launched its first physical store in Bandra in Mumbai. With over 1000 ingredients for culinary and baking enthusiasts, the range of products on offer span every dietary need. Urban Platter supports the need to be plant-based and hence they only sell plant-based products. They sell their products through their own website and other e-commerce platforms with limited products being available at about 700 other touchpoints across India.

THE JOURNEY

6 years ago, Urban Platter launched as a primarily e-commerce marketplace for everyday essentials and gourmet ingredients. With the aim to become a one-stop-ingredient shop, Urban Platter quickly grew to offer hard-to-find ingredients used for specific needs and even meatless burger patties and dairy-free butter.

They also expanded their reach by launching their products on other e-commerce spaces like Amazon and by sending their products to specialty stores across India.

THE STORE

Situated in the heart of a very vegan-friendly suburb, Bandra, anyone can now go and try their products before buying. This is the first time Urban Platter will be able to showcase all its products under one roof. They also have a smaller outlet with limited products available at a pop-up at the Jio World Drive in BKC.

Chirag Kenia, co-founder commented that it was necessary for people to be able to touch and try the products before buying. He further adds, “While we launched as an e-commerce portal predominantly, we realized that providing people with all their needs under one roof is also an opportunity we want to provide to gourmet culinary food lovers, hence the idea of opening a store.”

Whether you are making vegan French toast for breakfast, Doenjang Jjigae for lunch or a Matcha Tea Cheesecake for dessert, whether you are dairy-free, gluten-free, or avoiding sugar for health reasons, you will find all the ingredients you need at Urban Platter.
