Being vegan in Pune comes easy since this youthful city is home to plenty of vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants. Take it up a notch and you have Sorted Delicatessen— a grain-free deli restaurant nestling in the comforts of Kalyani Nagar that offers a fusion of worldwide cuisines.

The Story Behind Sorted.

The deli restaurant, as a concept, took birth after its owner Girish Monie experienced a radical shift in his lifestyle after having experimented with multiple diets. He used to be 142 kgs and during the course of his grand experiment which lasted a few years, he discovered that a grain-free diet best-suited his body. And that was his beginning towards something bigger: Sorted!

Sorted. Delicatessen is a one-stop lifestyle deli that promotes healthy, clean and mindful eating with a delicious range of foods right from salads to bread and desserts. Their mission is to create a powerful impact that would change people’s eating habits, leading them towards a cleaner and more wholesome life without sacrificing taste or flavour in the process.

The staff here is ever ready to “sort” your needs out. Our food was accompanied by a warm smile from our servers and they were well informed about the vegan options that are available at the restaurant.

Sorted. offers an impressive range of vegan selections that are innovative, organic, and wholesome. For the high-quality of ingredients and fresh produce, the quantity of food, a creative menu, and the overall eating experience, we think that the price was absolutely worth it.

Ambience VF Rating: ****

Upon entering, the restaurant instantly invites you to an al fresco dining area. Notes of turquoise blue pop against subtle shades of grey as part of the décor. We chose this to be the perfect setting for a relaxing lunch as opposed to the well-lit and cosy interior dining area which gives out a deli vibe— perfect for a romantic dinner in our opinion.

The menu explicitly breaks down each dish with nutritional information alongside symbols representing various categories like 'Vegan', 'Contains Nuts', 'Contains Chilli' etc. This truly made ordering a breeze for our vegan clan and is very useful for folks who have allergies. Aside from the menu, the plating of the food was extremely inviting.

Tomato Basil Soup

We started with a classic yet appetizing "Tomato Basil Soup" accompanied with some freshly baked buckwheat bread. The soup was fresh, light and toothsome. The creamy consistency and robust flavours from the soup made for a perfect start for what was to come. In two words— lip smacking!

Immunity Salad

Second in line, the healthy AF "I am Groot" Salad and "Immunity Salad". With fresh produce and the dressing on point, the salads were well balanced and refreshing in taste and flavour. 

Cajun Spiced Sweet Potato Fries

Next, a large heaping of jumbo "Cajun Spiced Sweet Potato Fries" and crunchy "Nachos Chips" accompanied with a delicious Tomato Salsa and Guacamole dip. This was an absolute treat after the soup. The dips were fresh and seasoned to perfection.

Mushroom & Caramelized Onion Beetroot Wrap & Tomato & Avocado Spinach Wrap

Next in line were the sumptuous looking "Mushroom & Caramelized Onion Beetroot Wrap" and "Tomato & Avocado Spinach Wrap". Both these wraps were wholesome with a hearty stuffing and a side of air-fried chips. The clear winner, however, was the Tomato & Avocado Spinach Wrap with its velvety taste.

Vegan Mac & Cheese

Vegan Mac & Cheese, period! Although at Sorted., we got the best of taste and health. The pasta, made from buckwheat was extremely filling without the otherwise “heavy after-feeling” from starchy foods. In our opinion, the vegan cheese could use some more magic to be on par with its dairy counterpart.

Almond Crust Vegan Pizza

What followed next was an indulgent "Almond Crust Vegan Pizza" with pesto sauce & vegan cheese. It was hands down, the healthiest pizza we’ve ever had which was equally delicious with every bite.

Vegan Dessert Platter

Our favourite meal from this lunch, however, was the extremely delectable vegan dessert platter. Just look at the beauty! We began our binge sesh with the "Vegan Chocolate Tart" and "Lemon Meringue Tart", and made our way through the "Vegan Parfait", "Avocado Pannacotta", and "Orange Chocolate Mousse". All of them were extremely well-crafted. Our favourites were the Lemon Meringue Tart and the Avocado Panacotta.

We ended our meal with a bunch of baked goods which were Sorted’s "Almond Vegan Cookies" and "5 Seed Cookies". We also tried their "Trail Mix", "Granola Bars" & house-made "Roasted Foxnuts". We highly recommend their Almond Vegan Cookies which we couldn't get enough of!

All in all, we were in for a phenomenal lunch experience at Sorted Delicatessen and can't wait to go back for more!
