Stella McCartney & Adidas Team Up To Launch Vegan Stan Smith Sneakers

The iconic Stan Smith sneaker is one of Adidas’s most popular pieces. And now, Stella McCartney will craft a vegan version of it with a colourful twist!

The designer announced the news on Instagram, adding that the shoes are colourful, iconic and 100% vegan. This version features black and white stripes along with rainbow laces that are interchangeable with the classic white ones.

Stella McCartney was among one of the first designers to discontinue fur in her collections and has been an advocate for cruelty-free fashion. And that is how this collaboration came about. Speaking to British Vogue, she said, “A few years go, my husband (Alasdhair Willis) commissioned Adidas to make me a special pair of vegetarian Stan Smiths for my birthday as he knew how much I love the iconic trainer. It got me thinking…so every time I saw the Adidas team I’d say ‘why can’t you make all you Stan Smiths veggie?’"

The sneakers will be available for retail on December 2^nd.
