The Vegan Options At Bastian By Chef Kelvin Cheung Are Delicious!

He's Bollywood's favourite chef, counting Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan and Tiger Shroff among his regulars. He was in charge of fuelling Shahid Kapoor during the gruelling shoot for Padmaavat, for his role as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. He even inspired his pals Alia Bhatt and Sonam Kapoor to dabble in leaner, greener cuisine. 

If his plant-powered plates are good enough for the stars, we're pretty sure they'll sit well with you, too! And If you thought his restaurant Bastian was a not-safe-for-vegans zone, you’re wrong!

Bastian is quite vegan-friendly, with a formidable selection of pure vegan dishes that are delicious, nutritious and pretty on the plate.

The menu includes house-made vegan dips and sauces, served up with the freshest produce. There's plenty of avocado, tofu and mushrooms of every kind. 

A permanent item is the “vegan and gluten-free soup of the day,” which changes daily. Apart from that, there are salads, small plates and hearty mains.

Sunday brunches can be tedious for vegans, especially since most restaurants rely on eggs, sausages, buttered toast and greasy home fries to fill the buffet. But Bastian’s vegan offerings make brunching with friends (both vegan and non-vegan) a whole lot easier!

We tried the Kung Pao Panda Salad, a textural explosion with crispy tofu peanuts, chilli, romaine and peppers.  Don’t be fooled by the “salad” tag, this one makes for a filling and flavoursome meal.
