An insight into the founders of this plant-based sports bar

Following the roaring success of the first PlantPub that was started last year in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Co-owners Pat McAuley and Mary Dumont feel confident about their new restaurant. Mary is celebrated chef with multiple television appearances. You may remember her from Iron Chef, Top Chef, and The Today Show. Dumont has won the Food & Wine Best New Chef award as well as Boston Magazine Best New Restaurant and Eater Boston Chef of the Year among her other achievements. When Mary started PlantPub with hervision for sustainable food practices, she crafted a wholly animal-free menu.

Co-creator McAuley on the other hand, is the famed TedX speaker of “A Plant-based Diet Changed My Life.” Pat has also gained expertise in craft beverages and worked on PlantPub’s drink menu. In fact, the Boston outlet is a collaboration between the creators andvenerated chef Matthew Kenney.Speaking of the collaboration, Matthew Kenney says, “I loved what they were doing — the product, the brand … it just seemed like a perfect fit. Fenway is ground zero in Boston, and we couldn’t think of a better location to showcase the fact that plant-based cuisine can be really crave-able and fulfilling and satisfying.”

Delectable items on their plant-based menu

When you visit PlantPub in Fenway Park, the co-founders Pat McAuley and Mary Dumont have curated a very special menu for you. Sports fans will be treated to appetizing burgers, wings, overloaded nachos and more. The best part is that even their dishes like fried chicken sandwiches and pepperoni pizza contain mock meat. They are all made devoid of any animal products! The bar at this place shall thrill you with craft beers and cocktails. What’s more is that this place will serve you everything from their Cambridge location’s menu and add some vegan desserts to the mix. They will even have plant-based sundaes, frappes, and ice cream sandwiches.

At a time when the globe is battling climate change, this pub attempts to be an eco-friendly solace for diners. The founders said in a statement, PlantPub has a mission to “make plant-based food approachable and fun for all, allowing people to eat better for themselves and better for the planet in a setting that is familiar and social, the pub. With a focus on supporting the most sustainable local farmers, craft brewers, and the best plant-based brands on the market, we are redefining the pubs.”
