It's not every day we hear of Spiritual leaders who advocate for veganism in a more rudimentary way. There are many with hundreds and thousands of followers, but fail to touch upon this most vital issue of humanity, that is animals and our treatment of them.

Mohanji, who has been an inspiration behind the founding of Vegan First shares some of his priceless wisdom with us, all for the sake of stirring the naturally abundant compassion and emotional logic within our own selves.

First and foremost, Mohanji urges us to acknowledge that non-human beings trust unconditionally, that they put their faith in us, believe in us and do not understand the human brand of conditional love.

"When we discard or abandon our pets when they are old when we send our domestic animals for slaughter, they feel a shocking amount of betrayal inside. They despair and die inside. Betrayal of trust kills them before the knife."

Mohanji goes on to explain that the Earth has perfect symmetry and balance. That the animals never kill for pleasure or fun, which is absolutely true. Animals only do things for a purpose and it is us humans who have destroyed the ecological balance.

He says "When animals began being treated as food materials, bred, raised and killed for the sake of human taste buds, we lost grip on our own conscience. We lost our grip on ourselves. When we kill any being, when we deny the right of existence or shared space towards any being, we are committing a breach of trust."

Generations to come will consider us as barbaric generation just because of the way we treat the beings of other species despite our intellectual and technological advancement.
