Students at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar - one of the largest private universities in India - have worked with Vegan Outreach and the school administration to change the cafeteria menu and make it more vegan-friendly.

The new menu will introduce two non-dairy beverages and reduce the use of milk by 14.3% in the next six months, under the Green Tuesday campaign.

Lovely Professional University has the largest residential capacity in the world with over 30,000 students and some students of the Jalandhar campus approached Vegan Outreach to bring its Green Tuesday Initiative there. The campaign helps institutions reduce their environmental footprint by making small changes in the food they serve.

So far, Vegan Outreach has worked with six educational institutions in North India, and the LPU Jalandhar campus is one of them. "This change will not only help animals and the environment, but it'll also make afternoon tea more enjoyable for the residential students," said Prashant BV, a student at LPU Jalandhar.
