Vegan Food Will Be A Top Trend In 2019, According To Uber Eats
We’re at closing in on 2018… and while we take stock (with a soy milk latte), we’re also excited about the year ahead. And, according to a survey by Uber Eats, what’s cooking in 2019 is lots of vegan food!
Vegan Food, A Top Trend In 2018
In Uber’s annual report, some of the trendiest foods of the year gone by, (and trendy foods for the year ahead), are VEGAN! Based on the most popular orders of the year, the 2018 list had a bunch of vegan-friendly food items, from avocado and tofu to kale, seaweed, hummus, and acai.
Avocadoes were among the top trends in 2018
The Hottest Trends Of 2019
“Plant-based foods” tops the list of what will be hot in 2019, along with:
- Smoothie bowls
- Pea milk
- Seitan
- Bulgur
- Pumpkin
- Farro
- Turmeric
- Tofu
- Chia
- Quinoa
- Agave
And, the term “vegan” comes in at number 17 on the hot list, too!
Clean eating will be all the rage in 2019
The other key takeaways also indicate a shift toward vegan food. Uber Eats’ data shows that people are ordering more “clean eating” dishes like tofu and seitan and edible flowers, along with fermented foods like kimchi and kombucha and dairy-free milks.
So it looks like 2019 is going to be the year of clean, green plant-powered cuisine! What are you waiting for? Grab your fork and dig in.
