Veganism: A Paradigm Shift – Register For The Free 3-Day Academic Online Conference On 9th June

Veganism: A Paradigm Shift is a multidisciplinary online conference to be held for three days between 9th to 11th June 2021. It has been organized by the Department of Philosophy of Università La Sapienza, Rome, Italy. The conference will be holding four panels to discuss the relationship between humans and animals, and how it can be changed radically.

The online conference will cover various arenas – social, economic, legal, environmental, conceptual and ethical – under the possibility of change. Researchers from these fields will be talking about the coexistence of human beings and animals in these contexts. Apart from the theoretical concept of this coexistence, the panels will also cover practical changes that can be made to alter our relationship with animals.

The conference will be 16 hours long and is free to attend by anyone. The first panel to be held on 9th June is called Animal Value, Theory and Emotions. The second panel, on the morning of 10th June will cover Animal Perception, Representation and Art. The third panel will venture into the identity associated with the word 'vegan' and will take place on the afternoon of the same day. The last panel on 11th June is called Consumption, Politics and Society.

This interactive conference aims to rethink the value and role assigned to animals in human civilization as 'food', and discuss the ethics of this role. It will also cover the role of the law, society and economy in defining our relationship with the natural world. It will go in-depth about the concept of veganism and it's ideals, while also recounting human impact on nature.
